CAMILLA GÜRTLERArtistic Director / Producer / News Nordics Festival Director

Camilla Gürtler is a Danish director in the UK who trained at Drama Centre London. She is Cut the Cord's founder, artistic director and producer, and the Festival Director of New Nordics Festival. She was an Emerging Creative at h Club London in 2019 and received a Jack Petchy Leadership Award for her work with Omnibus Young Company. She also works as an arts fundraiser.

 

Significant projects include: New Nordics Festival (Festival Director), Plays by Post (producer), New Nordic Voices (producer), Nordic Talks (producer & moderator).

 

Directing credits include: ‘I Run’ (Pleasance/Vault Festival), ‘Endless Second’ (Park Theatre/Pleasance/Theatre503), ‘Beyond the Blue’ (Camden People’s Theatre/Theatre Royal Stratford East/Poplar Union), ‘Kinder K’ (Bunker Theatre/The Venue), ‘Pomona’ (Drama Centre London), ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (Omnibus Theatre/Omnibus Young Company), ‘Mydidae’ (Wimbledon College of Arts), ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ (Etcetera Theatre), ‘An Incident at the Border’ (The Albany).  

 

Other credits include: AVATAR ME, Fix&Foxy (co-director & project coordinator), Omnibus Young Company (youth theatre director 2014-19), In the Dusty Rain (Teater Grob, Denmark – translator), Insights Performance Outreach Programme, University of the Arts London (facilitator and teacher).
